Welcome to Beijing, China Today you arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. Greeted and received by your local guide and escorted to your hotel in downtown Beijing. Check in your deluxe hotel and rest of day is at your own disposal.

Enjoy your buffet breakfast at your hotel. Meet with your private guide and driver at hotel lobby and then head out for a day excursion on the Great Wall of China at Badaling. The lunch today will be arranged at a good restaurant at the foot of the Great Wall. In the afternoon you will pass through the Sacred Way to visit the Ming Tomb. Composed of memorial archway, ornamental pillar, and stele pavilion ornamental etc, the Sacred Way is a long path that leads you to the Ming Tomb. It was thought to have leaded the emperors’ souls to enter heaven. The Ming Tomb is the burial site of 13 out of 17 emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644). Being the last resting place of 13 emperors, it is also called as Thirteen Tombs by Chinese.
Meet with your private guide and driver at the arranged appointed time. Today you will take a full day guided tour to explore Beijing. First of all you will take a walking on the iconic Tiananmen Square, which is probably the biggest one of its kind in the world. Then you will visit the Palace Museum, which is also been called as the “Forbidden City” (Gu Gong in Chinese) the emperor’s palace, which was built between 1406 and 1420 with 9000 halls and rooms, containing many precious relics. Facing south and rising from a terrace, the largest palace in the world represents the supreme power and authority emperors enjoyed during the feudalistic dynasties, and exemplifies the elements of palace architecture. In the afternoon we make an excursion to the Summer Palace (Yi He Yuan), the most exquisite imperial garden in China which was once the private garden of Chinese Ming and Qing emperors. You will enjoy your Chinese lunch and dinner at well selected local restaurants. Transfer to railway station and take a soft sleeper train to Xi’an.

Upon arrival Xi’an, received by your local guide who will greet you and escort you to hotel for breakfast and enjoy some refreshments. Then you shall start the Xi’an travel. Stroll at the Muslim market in the city centre. There are a lots of food stalls at the roadside along the walkway, so take your time to discover and sample nice eateries if desired. After that, enjoy a traditional shadow play at Gao Family Mansion. Lunch is arranged at an authentic Muslim Restaurant (Halal) served with amazing Chinese Muslim meals. In the afternoon get to the Xi’an Ancient City Wall, which is one of the most well preserved City Wall in China that can trace back to the Chinese Ming Dynasty over 500 years ago. If desire, you can take a biking tour on the city wall. The Grand Mosque at Huajue Alley is well worthy a trip too.

Enjoy the highlight of Xi’an today! You will visit the Museum of Terra-cotta Army. This mighty army of terracotta warriors and horses, found in three vaults 39 km east of Xi’an and 1.5km from the Qin emperor’s mausoleum, is the most popular tourist attraction of Shaanxi. Besides, visit Da Yan Ta (Big Wild-Goose Pagoda), which was completed in 652, or the 3 rd year of Yonghui reign of the Tang emperor Gaozong. The 64.1-metre-high Pagoda in Ci’en Temple is a pavilion-like brick structure whose serene and well-proportioned form has become the emblem of Xian. After that, we shall take a Chinese Calligraphy class at a local Fine Arts Studio where you shall practice with the Chinese Ink Brush writing your Chinese names

Transfer to airport and fly to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. On arrival, met with your local Tibetan English speaking guide who shall escort you to the city along the Tsangpo River and the Kyichu River. Have a light lunch as your first meal in Tibet. Free at own leisure the balance of day to acclimate yourself to the altitude.
4 nights at Lhasa Kyichu Hotel New Wing (Tibetan style, similar to 4-star)
Today you will have a full day tour in Lhasa to visit its must-see attractions such as the Potala Palace, the landmark of Lhasa and the traditional winter residence of the Dalai Lamas, Jokhang Temple, the center of the Tibetan Buddhism and the sacred land of Buddhist followers, Barkhor Street, a big local bazaar in Tibet and perhaps the most famous open market on the land of snow. Apart from the normal walking at the Barkhor, you will visit couple of little chapels set clockwise at the holy pilgrimage circuit surrounding Jokhang Temple.
Breakfast at your hotel. Then you will meet with your guide and driver who will escort and accompany you to the foot of the Pabonka Monastery, one of the most ancient Buddhist sites in the whole Tibet that is noted for its tranquil meditation place. You will take a walking tour with your guide to explore the whole mountain with visits to little temples, holy cave, running spring and nice hermitages for the nuns etc. This place is one of the less visited sites in Lhasa that mass tourists never been here. You will have a picnic lunch during the walking. In the afternoon you will descend the mountain to Sera Monastery, one of the “Big Three” Gelupa Monasteries in and around Lhasa. This afternoon you may have the opportunity to see monks.
In the morning you will be transferred to visit holy Lake Yamdrok (4441 m), one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and the largest habitat of waterfowls in south Tibet. You shall walk along the shore to admire this turquoise lake. Have lunch at a local restaurant nearby. In the afternoon you will visit a local Tibetan family near Lhasa.
Check out and bid a farewell to Tibet as we fly out to Chengdu, the hometown to the lovely Giant Pandas. Enjoy a nice lunch in Chengdu. This afternoon you shall explore a Buddhist Temple in town, the largest and oldest of its kind in Chengdu. Stroll at the Kuan Zhai Alleys through some of Chengdu’s old residential quarters and do not miss out a leisure tea time at a lovely local teahouse at the People’s Park in downtown Chengdu.
2 nights at The Hotel Zen Urban Resort (boutique hotel) or similar
Highlight of the tour in Chengdu. You will visit Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding that is situated in the north suburbs of Chengdu. About 50 pandas live in the semi-natural environment in this base, where you can not only see the giant pandas closely but also will learn more knowledge about this rare animal by visiting Giant Panda Museum and watching panda films. Then you shall drive southwards along the vast Chengdu Plain to Leshan for the mighty Leshan Grand Buddha, towering 71 metre, the largest of its kind in the world. In addition, take a river cruise on the Minjiang River to view the might Statue at the confluence of three rivers beneath the foot of the Buddha.
A flight shall take us to Shanghai, China’s foremost economic centre and the only cosmopolitan city of the country. You shall enjoy a nice lunch in Shanghai. This afternoon you shall commence a half day guided tour. The first stop will be at Yuyuan Garden, the most famous garden in south China and decorated with beautiful pavilions, miniature lakes, bridges and rock formations. Walking in the old city area through the zigzagging stone bridge outside City God Temple. Then stroll at the Bund along the Huangpu River.

We continue the journey in Shanghai. Drive outside to Zhu Jia Jiao, an ancient water town founded nearly 1,700 years ago. Nowadays there are 36 stone bridges and numerous rivers line Zhujiajiao, and many ancient buildings still line the riverbanks.Return the city and move to proceed to Pudong New Area to enjoy the townscape and skyline of the cosmopolitan Shanghai on the 88-storey Jin Mao Tower. Later of the day you shall walk on the Nanjing Road in Shanghai downtown.
Free till transferred to Shanghai Pudong International Airport for your departure flight home. Journey ends in China.
